Laredo and surrounding communities are invited to join the celebration and dedication of Laredo Community College South on Friday, April 16, at 7 p.m. The new campus is located at 5500 South Zapata Highway. Tours of the facility begin at 5:30 p.m.
The celebration will include entertainment from college and high school student performance ensembles, food and soft drinks, and a dedication ceremony. A fireworks display choreographed to music will follow the ceremony.
“The opening of Laredo Community College South marks the beginning of a new and greater opportunity for Laredo and South Texas citizens to obtain a quality and accessible higher education,” said LCC President Dr. Ramon H. Dovalina. “It’s a time to celebrate and everyone is invited to be part of this new chapter of Laredo Community College history.”
The celebration will include the dedication of buildings to honor and recognize the contributions of seven Laredoans.
