Students have more opportunities to make history at Laredo Community College, where financial aid dedicated to student success this year totals more than $5.6 million, announced College President Dr. Ramon H. Dovalina.
“One of our primary goals at Laredo Community College is to eliminate financial obstacles that hinder students from achieving their goals,” said Dovalina. “Thanks to generous contributions which LCC has received from the community, students have the opportunity to apply for, and receive a variety of scholarships, in addition to funds available through federal and state programs.”
Community gifts, such as the most recent contribution of $100,000 from local philanthropist Guadalupe Martinez, have raised the college’s endowment fund to $1.5 million.
LCC students who plan to attend LCC during the 2004-2005 school year are encouraged to learn about the various options available to finance their college education. Information on scholarships, grants, and work-study opportunities are available on the LCC web site at www.laredo.edu, the college’s On Line Enrollment system at http://ole.laredo.edu and by calling the LCC Financial Aid office at 721-5461. Office hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
