
Laredo Community College will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a cultural potpourri of song, dance, lecture and more on Thursday, October 14.
The LCC Student Activities office invites students and community to attend a cultural celebration on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Kazen College Center.
The event will begin with a brief presentation by Foreign Languages Instructor Rene Montemayor. He will discuss the importance of celebrating and recognizing Hispanic culture.
The celebration will continue with an exciting show of traditional dances from Mexico and Latin America, presented by the Ballet Folklorico and Flamenco Companies of LCC and the Vidal M. Treviño Magnet School.
The program will conclude with customary songs from Mexico performed by members of the LCC Pequeña Barraca Spanish club.
The Student Activities office will offer traditional refreshments, including Mexican-style fruit drinks (aguas frescas) and cookies (ojarascas).
