A new and special chapter in Laredo Community College history begins on Monday, August 23, during the Fall 2004 Employee Convocation.
The in-service will include a general session for all faculty and staff at 11 a.m. in the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center and a variety of professional development seminars during the morning and afternoon. State Representative Richard Raymond will meet with college administrators, professional and technical staff to discuss legislative issues from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Martinez Fine Arts Center.
The theme of this year’s LCC Convocation, dubbed “Let’s Make History,” emphasizes a major milestone in college history: the expansion to a two-campus college district. This fall semester, LCC launches its inaugural semester of college credit courses at the new LCC South campus, said Dr. Ramon H. Dovalina, President of LCC.
“For almost six decades, Laredo Community College has been committed to ‘Making History One Student At A Time.’ LCC has helped thousands of students accomplish career goals and realize dreams,” said Dovalina. “Now, as LCC enters its 57th year of service as a two-campus college district, our college mission grows to deliver educational services to more Laredo and South Texas citizens.”
LCC will hold regular (arena) registration for the Fall 2004 Semester from August 24 to 26 in the Maravillo Gymnasium. Classes begin on August 30. To view the alphabetical registration schedule or the Fall 2004 Class Schedule on the World Wide Web, go online to www.laredo.edu.
During Convocation, LCC campus offices will be closed. Some college departments will offer limited service hours in the afternoon as in-service activities continue through 6 p.m.
