Top female comic to perform at LCC Jan. 21
Laredo
Community College students can take a break from their studies and enjoy a
comedy show featuring national college entertainer Leighann Lord on Wednesday,
January 21.
The
LCC Student Advisory Board will sponsor Lord's one-hour comedy show on Jan. 21
at 1 p.m. in the Kazen College Center. Admission
is free and open to students and the public.
A
favorite at comedy clubs and college campuses nationwide, Lord's comedy show is
described by critics as "wickedly funny."
Her on-stage charisma, topics and punch lines invoke laughter and thought
at the same time, say critics.
In
fact, Lord is the winner of the New York City Black Comedy Award for the
"Most Thought-Provoking Female Comic."
Lord
has also had the opportunity to perform on cable and network television,
including Comedy Central, the Lifetime Channel, the NBC Comedy Showcase and
ABC's "The View."
For more information about Lord's comedy show at LCC, contact the LCC Student Activities Office by calling 721-5179. Office hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
