
LPO
to debut at LCC Fine Arts Center; tickets on sale
The Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra will make its debut performance in Laredo Community College’s Fine Arts Center on Saturday, January 31. Tickets for the LPO concert may be purchased at the LCC Bursar’s Office.
The auditorium of the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center on campus will be the setting for the orchestra’s exciting concert “Wanders in Europe.” The event will be Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. Brendan Townsend is the conductor.
The
second in the LPO's 24th season, the concert will feature piano soloist Dr.
Fritz Gechter and will include selections from Tchaikovsky, Addinsell, Brahms,
Smetena, Dvorak and Tourina. Dr.
Gechter, associate professor of piano at Texas A&M International University,
will perform Addinsell's demanding "Warsaw Concerto."
Tickets
are $20 at the door and $12 for seniors. They can also be purchased in advance
by visiting the LCC Bursar’s Office, located in LCC’s University Hall, room
121. Office hours are Mondays
through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
