Mexican revolution remembered by LCC students
The anniversary of the Mexican Revolution, which occurred from 1910 to 1920, was remembered by the Nuestras Raices Spanish Club at Laredo Community College on Friday in the Kazen College Center. Students set up an exhibit of pictures, books and articles to recognize individuals who played a key role in the revolution. Among the “heroes” remembered were Pancho Villa, Emiliano Zapata and Venustiano Carranza. The club also sold traditional Mexican candy. Among the members who manned the exhibit were, from left, seated, Armando Vaquera, treasurer Jose Alfredo Pulido; standing, secretary Adriana Pedraja and club president Veronica Martinez.
