LCC Offers Optional Course Registration

This spring at Laredo Community College, students have many opportunities to ACHIEVE MORE in 2004, including a New Option for students returning to college for workforce education.

Students can take a shorter route to college registration by selecting the Continuing Education route to the same workforce courses offered to traditional college students.

New Option Classes provide students with the opportunity to enroll for a Continuing Education course, which is “linked” to a college credit course.

Enrollment is limited to space available and other prerequisites established by departmental guidelines. Course fees for New Option Classes do not include the cost of textbooks or other required student supplies. These must be purchased separately, as required by each instructor.

Among the New Option Classes to be offered are Business English (linked to POFT 1301), Document Formatting and Skill Building (linked to POFT 2401), Business Math and Machine Applications (linked to POFT 1325), Professional Development for Office Personnel (linked to POFT 1313), Introduction to Accounting I (linked to ANCT 1403), Introduction to Accounting II (linked to ANCT 1404), Introduction to Computerized Accounting (linked to ANCT 1411), Payroll and Business Tax Accounting (linked to ANCT 1429), Intermediate Layout and Fabrication (linked to WLDG 1553), Intermediate Shielded Metal Arc Welding (linked to WLDG 1557), Intermediate Welding Using Multiple Processes (linked to WLDG 2513), Electrical Calculations I (linked to ELPT 1315), Fundamentals of Electricity II (linked to ELPT 1320), Survey of the National Electric Code (linked to ELPT 1331), Commercial Wiring (linked to ELPT 1345), and Electrical Troubleshooting (linked to ELTN 1343).
