
New students seeking fall 2004 admission to the Nursing Assistant program at Laredo Community College are reminded to submit their application by Thursday, August 19.
Applications are due on August 19 in Lopez Nursing Building, room 104. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 7 p.m.
The LCC Nursing Assistant Program is a 15 college credit hour certificate program which encourages students from various cultural and academic backgrounds to train for skills required to function effectively as a nursing assistant in community agencies such as nursing homes, hospitals, physician's offices, health departments and/or public school systems.
Students who complete the program are required to take the Texas Department of Human Services Certification examination in order to practice in the state.
Established in 1995, the LCC Nursing Assistant program is a model program that has always maintained high passing rates on the certification exam. The student applicant must have a high school or GED diploma, and a reading level of 10.5 or higher.
