Laredo Community College will showcase an extravaganza of tribal beats during two percussion concerts on April 26 and April 30 in the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center. Admission to both concerts is free to the public.
The LCC Music and Dance Department, in association with the City of Laredo, will present an LCC Percussion Ensemble concert on Monday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Martinez Fine Arts Center Theater.

The clinic, said Zirkle, will focus on the study of African, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban percussion music.

Zirkle’s recital will also feature guest performances by the local jazz trio, Jazz x 3, marimba player Alfredo Garcia and the LCC Dance Theatre.
The LCC Dance Theatre, directed by Music/Dance Department Chair/Instructor Danuta U. Gazdyszyn, will perform a piece composed by Zirkle, entitled “Schizophrenia.” The selection is choreographed by LCC student Sarai Araiza.
