Poetry in the Round Thursday
Laredo Community College will launch its celebration of National Poetry Month on Thursday, April 1, with the sixth annual Poetry in the Round.
It will begin at 6 p.m. in the Arena Theatre of the Adkins Building. The event is sponsored by the LCC Humanities Society and the departments of English, Reading, Speech and Drama. Admission is free and open to the public.
This year's celebration will include the participation of student poets, musicians and dancers, said event organizer and English instructor Maria Lydia Saldivar.
LCC’s observance of National Poetry Month will also include the presentation of the 23rd annual LCC Spanish Poetry Competition on April 2 at 10 a.m. in the Arena Theater.
