Comedy meets hip-hop at LCC Sept. 29

What happens when you mix comedy with hip-hop dancing?  Find out on Wednesday, September 29, when Laredo Community College presents the first-time Laredo appearance of the multi-talented national campus act, Alfred and Seymour, at both its downtown and south campuses.

Sponsored by the LCC Student Activities Office, Alfred and Seymour will perform at 10 a.m. in the Billy Hall Student Center at LCC South (5500 South Zapata Highway) and then at 1 p.m. in the Kazen College Center, located on the downtown campus at the west end of Washington Street.  Admission is free and open to students and the public.

Cousins Al and Sey believe that stand-up comedy should not have to stand still.  That is why they combine exciting hip-hop dancing with side-splitting comedy to present what some critics describe as the most unique comedy concept to grace the stage since Vaudeville.

Alfred and Seymour have appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Jenny Jones on UPN.  They have also appeared on NBC, MTV’s Top 20 Music Video Countdown and on numerous music videos.  The duo has also been featured on commercials for Pepsi, Sprite and American Express.

Alfred and Seymour have performed around the world, including China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.  They were also winners of the People’s Choice Award in Halifax, Canada.

Other top entertainment acts coming to both LCC campuses this fall, include ventriloquist Lynn Trefzer, Oct. 5; and hypnomentalist Rich Ames, Oct. 19.  LCC will also host numerous music and dance concerts.

For more information about the comedy/hip-hop act, contact the LCC Student Activities Office by calling 721-5179.
