LCC is ideal for summer study

Day or evening. In the classroom or from your home computer.  Laredo Community College is offering many avenues to jumpstart or complete degree goals this summer.

“Laredo Community College is offering an array of courses which are part of the Core Curriculum Inventory and transfer seamlessly to any state university.  This is an ideal opportunity for university students in town for the summer to enroll at LCC and take advantage of our affordable in-district tuition rate, which is half of what most state universities charge,” said Felix Gamez, Director of Admissions/Registration.

Gamez added that students can choose from an array of classes available in the morning, afternoon, evening and online.

“The LCC Summer Class Schedule practically covers every letter of the alphabet, from art to welding.  Plus, the distance learning classes offer flexibility for students to study anywhere and anytime with an Internet-ready computer.”

Gamez added that the LCC South campus will offer a small sampling of college credit classes in computers, criminal justice and fire protection technology during Summer Session II.  LCC’s second campus is located at 5500 South Zapata Highway.

Early registration for the first summer session has been extended to May 16 via the college’s On Line Enrollment systems available by phone at 721-5100 and online at ole.laredo.edu.  The systems are accessible from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., including weekends.

Students who registered early for Summer I have until Monday, May 17, to pay in full their tuition and fees at the LCC Bursar’s Office.  Summer Session I begins on May 31, and continues through June 30.  Final exams are on July 1.

Early registration for Summer Session II is also underway through June 17.  Students can register early via the OLÉ Web system.

The OLÉ systems are available to students who can self-advise for classes and to those who took advantage of the early advisement period last month.

Students who register early for Summer II have until Monday, June 21, to pay their tuition and fees.  Summer Session II begins on July 7, and continues through August 9.  Final exams are on August 10.

The schedule of courses for both summer sessions is available online at www.laredo.edu and at the LCC Admissions/Registration Office, located in University Hall, room 125.

For more information, contact the LCC Admissions/Registration Office by calling 721-5109.  Office hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
