Summer study at LCC accommodates all students
College students can advance their academic studies or enrich their lives this summer at Laredo Community College. Regular (arena) registration for Summer Session II at LCC will be on Tuesday, July 6.
Admissions/Registration Director Felix Gamez says that LCC will offer a variety of day, evening and distance education courses during the second summer session, which starts on Wednesday, July 7.
“Students have choices at Laredo Community College. They can enroll in academic transfer courses to jump-start or advance a degree, pursue vocational/technical training to learn a new career, or sign up for fun, personal enrichment classes,” says Gamez.
The college offers the option of distance education classes via the Internet, including art appreciation, English, American literature, American national government, history, introduction to business and trade, management, college algebra, music appreciation, psychology, speech and early childhood education, among other courses.
LCC is also offering fun and unique ways to stay fit and healthy through its schedule of kinesiology (physical fitness) classes. Among the offerings are new swimming and water aerobics classes that are not in the printed class schedule.
Arena registration on July 6 will be conducted in the Maravillo Gymnasium by alphabetical sequence according to last name: 8:30-10 a.m.—G-K; 10-11 a.m.—L-P; 11 a.m.-12 noon—Q-T; in the afternoon, 4-5 p.m.—U-Z, A-B; and 5-6 p.m.—C-F. Registration will be open to all students from 6 to 8 p.m.
Additionally, students who registered with the college’s online or telephone enrollment system (OLÉ) will be able to make changes to their class schedules anytime during the registration period.
Classes for the second summer session at LCC will be from July 7 to August 9. Late registration is on July 7 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. in the LCC gym.
