Laredo Community College will celebrate Women’s History Month during a special symposium composed of leading medical and healthcare women professionals on Thursday, March 11.
The event, co-sponsored by the LCC Humanities Society and the American Association of University Women, will be at 6 p.m. in the Kazen College Center, room 121. Admission is free and open to students and the public.
Maria Lydia Saldivar, an English faculty member, club sponsor and AAUW member, says that the symposium will feature women in medicine and health related fields.
“Our presenters will share insight on how they managed to succeed in their chosen careers as women, as well as the efforts made to balance family and career,” says Saldivar.
The speakers will include Dr. Beatriz Garza de Caldera, pharmacist Laura de la Garza, and professional counselor and professor Denise Lynn Bradley.
