LCC claims major victories in national tennis championship
PLANO - The Laredo Community College men's tennis team posted their most impressive standings on the NJCAA Men's Championships. Palomino Alex Ortega of Miami, Florida, won the top flight in the singles to become the No. 1 player in the nation. Other national champs included the doubles of Jorge Anda and Rafael Zurita in flight 2; and Todd Hendricks, who won the flight 4 singles consolation championship. The team finished with their highest national ranking at third.
LCC freshman Alex Ortega claimed the No. 1 spot in this year's NJCAA Championship.
