Laredo Community College will offer a special opportunity for students and environment-conscious citizens to preserve and maintain the beauty of the Paso del Indio Nature Trail on campus during the annual Trail Work Day on Saturday, April 3.
The Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Science Center at LCC invites persons of all ages to participate in the event, from 8 a.m. to noon. The 1.5 mile long trail is located along the banks of the Rio Grande on the north side of the LCC campus behind the LBVE Science Center.
Volunteers should bring their gardening tools and gloves, wear comfortable clothes and bring plenty of bottled water. Participants will be engaged in a number of improvement projects for the nature trail, including mulch spreading and trail lining.
After the work day, lunch will be provided to the participants. Volunteers will also be able to tour the LBVE Science Center facilities.
Individuals who are interested in participating in the LCC Nature Trail Work Day are encouraged to RSVP for lunch accommodations.
