WDC19

After a semester jam-packed with grueling hours of practice and hard work, Laredo College dance students will reap the fruits of their labor at the LC Winter Dance Concert on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center Theater.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m. and tickets will be sold at the door. General admission is $10. Children and senior citizens pay only $5. With over 50 performers taking part in this production, this one-night show promises a well-rounded experience with incredible dance performances.

The concert will feature the LC Dance Theatre directed by Patricia J. Godines, LC dance faculty. In addition to the talented LC dance students, distinguished guests will also take the stage. El Estudio de Cristina Greco, Danssika, J4Artistry Folklorico and Texas State University will showcase some beautiful dance pieces.

“We are so excited for this concert,” Godines said. “The students have been working extraordinarily long hours in the studio and it shows in their execution of the choreographies.”

These dance majors will also be showcasing their curriculum achievements in choreography, light, stage and costume design in their project pieces.

“As always, we will have quite a few different genres being performed to choreographies by faculty,” Godines added. “It is important to me that our students here at LC experience every style of dance. The dance majors had their first tap class this semester taught by dance faculty Cristina Greco and are outstanding!”

Registration for the spring semester is underway and Laredo College has a wide range of classes to choose from. The college offers an Associate Degree of Arts with a concentration in Dance.
