LC students to delight with guitar ensemble concert

Laredo College music students will put on the performance of a lifetime on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the Visual and Performing Arts Gallery. Admission is free and open to the public. The performance will begin at 3:30 p.m.

The Laredo community is invited to appreciate a melodic guitar ensemble performance under the direction of Dr. Matthew Bishop, Laredo College guitar instructor. The students will delight the public with the sounds of strumming guitars filling the stage during the Laredo College Guitar Studio and Ensemble Concert.

Although this bi-annual event is presented by students each semester, this performance has a special meaning behind it. LC music majors will perform a selection of classical and modern compositions from England, France and Norway, as well as from Argentina, Cuba and Brazil. The concert will feature solos, small ensemble groups and orchestra performances.

Prospective students interested in pursuing a degree in music can change their lives at Laredo College by pursuing a career in the fine and performing arts. Registration for the spring semester is already underway.
