Laredo Community College
encourages the formation of any worthwhile student organization. Student
organizations are formed to enhance social, recreational, educational, or
cultural needs of LCC students. Students are encouraged to join existing
organizations on campus or to create a new organization of their choice. A current listing
of organizations can be obtained from the office of Student Activities.
Information is available in the
Student Activities office regarding current procedures for organizations and on how
to gain official status as an organization. All student organizations must have a
faculty advisor, student officers, and a constitution which clearly states
the purpose of the organization. The constitution and
purpose must be in harmony with the philosophy and
mission program of the college.
The Student Activities Office
will support officially recognized organizations by providing organizational
assistance and leadership training information. The organizations are encouraged to
utilize The Palomino Express and the
Marketing and Public Information
Office to promote organization events.
A Student Organizations Rules
and Regulations Handbook with detailed information for student
organizations may
be obtained at the Student Activities Office. An application for recognition
and a minimum of ten LCC students and a constitution must be submitted for
approval. A student organization’s membership consists of students enrolled
at Laredo Community College. Membership must be opened to all LCC students
who meet the established guidelines for same. Membership will not be denied
for reasons relating to disability, race, creed, sex, age, color or national
origin.
An example of student
