The Performing Arts at LC encompasses the disciplines of music, dance and drama.
Our goal is to prepare students to transfer with a field of study and performance experience which will allow them to pursue their degrees at four-year institutions across Texas and the U.S.
We are also committed to the enrichment of the cultural offerings within the city of Laredo by presenting many cultural events, concerts, master classes and clinics by world renowned faculty, students, and guest artists.
The Visual Arts offers 22 different courses in visual arts. The college credits can be used toward an Associate Degree and may be transferred to four-year and upper-level institutions to apply to the requirements for a bachelor’s degree.
Although we do offer some lecture courses on-line, all of our studio courses are taught in a classroom setting. For those seeking a degree in art, all of the courses are located at the Ft. McIntosh Campus and several are offered in the South Campus.
Art courses lead to many career options. Individuals considering careers in this field are encouraged to consult with one of the Art Department instructors to guide them in developing a well-planned curriculum and compatibility with degree plans from specific four-year schools.
