 Laredo College kicks off graduation festivities with cap and gown distribution 


Cap and gownLaredo College is gearing up for its first-ever virtual commencement ceremony on Monday, May 29. This historic graduation will see 1,600 graduates celebrate the culmination of their academic journey at LC.


This week, the celebration began with the distribution of caps and gowns. The graduates were enthusiastic about donning their graduation regalia while experiencing their virtual graduation.

They picked up their diplomas, took pictures and some even got emotional while reminiscing about all the great times they spent at LC.


“A great deal of planning and preparation went into making this an unforgettable commencement for our graduates,” Laredo College President Dr. Ricardo J. Solis said. “Keeping students and their families safe while still commemorating this remarkable achievement was our primary goal.”


Students and their loved ones are welcome to tune in to the Laredo College Facebook page and YouTube channel on Monday at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy the graduation from home and use the hashtag #LCgrad2020 for their celebratory posts.
