In 1974, President Gerald Ford established Emergency Medical Services Week
to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation’s
communities. Therefore, this week was declared National Emergency Medical
Every year, local first responders observe this week with activities
organized by their respective entities. Due to the current situation, our local
heroes are not able to celebrate as planned. Hence, Laredo College visited
local first responders to deliver gift baskets to first responders as a token
of appreciation for their hard work and dedication to our community.
