Laredo College celebrates local first responders during Emergency Medical Services Week

In 1974, President Gerald Ford established Emergency Medical Services Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation’s communities. Therefore, this week was declared National Emergency Medical Services Week.

Every year, local first responders observe this week with activities organized by their respective entities. Due to the current situation, our local heroes are not able to celebrate as planned. Hence, Laredo College visited local first responders to deliver gift baskets to first responders as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication to our community.

Laredo College President Ricardo J. Solis said, “LC is working to ensure that the important contributions of EMS practitioners in safeguarding the health, safety and well-being of their communities are fully celebrated and recognized.”

This week will be greatly appreciated by local leaders, students and everyone in Laredo and around the nation.  Photographed are Laredo Fire Department personnel, LC President Ricardo J. Solis, LC Trustee Mercurio Martinez Jr., LC Trustee Jackie Leven-Ramos and LC Trustee Jorge Delgado.
