Laredo College offering virtual real estate license program

Real Estate

Laredo College continues to offer high-demand courses that will prepare people in the community and surrounding areas through online platforms in a cost-effective and convenient way.

LC Continuing Education Department will offer courses that fulfill the educational requirements set by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) in a live online classroom environment for those interested in becoming a real estate sales agent. Those taking our online virtual Texas Real Estate License Program will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel as a professional real estate sales agent.

Registered students will be fully versed in the relevant laws and regulations governing the state of Texas as they are taught by our qualified LC instructors approved by TREC. Online virtual courses to be offered are Principles of Real Estate I and II, Law of Agency, Law of Contracts, Promulgated Contract Forms and Real Estate Finance. The cost of each course with books and materials included is $250.

The program is TSI exempt. The only qualifications necessary to obtain your license are to be at least 18 years old, be a United States citizen or be eligible to work in the U.S. and meet TREC’s qualification for honesty, trustworthiness and integrity.

Program requirements include completing a combined 180 hours of required education, submitting the necessary forms and fees to TREC, submitting your fingerprints, passing a background check and scheduling and taking the exam. Students should also consider obtaining a sponsoring broker.

Virtual classes can be accessed through CANVAS and Zoom. Students are required to have internet access and may access the classes through their personal desktop, laptop, tablet and Android or Apple mobile device with video and sound capabilities.

The program begins on June 1, 2020 and will be offered Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Additional information on qualifications, requirements and forms can be found by visiting www.trec.texas.gov.
