For students not willing to wait months until the summer sessions or
fall semester come around, Laredo College’s Second Start Spring provides the
perfect opportunity to get ahead in their degree or career plan by taking
classes this spring.
This accelerated eight-week session begins on March 8 and ends May 6. Students
can take their pick of more than 20 basic core academic courses that will help
them start or continue their college career and stay on track with their
graduation or transfer plans. Financial aid is available for qualifying
students, and classes must be paid before the first day of class.
Time is of the essence as there are limited spaces available for these
courses. Students wishing to register are encouraged to begin the enrollment process
as soon as possible. All classes will be online, and students who are currently
taking classes in the traditional spring semester can also register for Second
Start Spring courses and take them concurrently.
“Our Second Start initiative is an innovative concept conceived by Laredo
College administrators with the goal of providing an opportunity for students
to register for an intensive, shortened semester rather than having to wait for
several months to take college courses,” Laredo College President Dr. Ricardo
J. Solis said. “It was a successful venture that we kicked off last year during
our fall semester with overwhelmingly positive results. Due to its success, we
have decided to extend this opportunity to the spring as well to assist as many
students as possible.”
Students enrolling at Laredo College will have the honor of attending
the #1 community college in Texas, as named by BestColleges.com. Additionally,
our award-winning programs reflect our faculty and staff’s commitment to
academic excellence and student success.
