Laredo College continues with another musical theatre production that
will fill the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center with Broadway
The Laredo College Visual and Performing Arts Department will stage
talented student and community voices with quality melodies brought to life
during the 2021 fall production of “All Together Now,” a musical revue.
Musical Theatre International organized this global performance on the
same weekend to help theaters worldwide raise funds due to the hardships they
have been facing due to the pandemic. Each production was tailored to showcase
their individual needs, and LC joined forces to celebrate theater.
Around 19 talented singers of all ages will fill the stage in
mid-November. Everyone on stage possesses singing or acting abilities, problem-solving
skills and a team player mentality. Many of these actors formed part of
the Opera Musical Theater and Theater Practicum course at LC and have appeared
in previous LC theatre productions.
This production is part of an important milestone for students since it
was the first time they set two musicals on stage in the same semester, in
addition to other plays. The experience they have obtained while at our
institution has helped develop and polish their theatrical skills.
“There is no substitute for
experience in the training of performers, so every opportunity allows them to
develop more,” Theater Director William Hauserman said. “We don’t often do
musical revues, so this represents another way to broaden their horizons.”
Bring your family and friends to
the MFA theater on Nov. 12, Nov. 13 and Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. or on Nov. 14 at 3
p.m. to witness this unique performance. The ticket entrance is only $10. The event
is open to the public. LC adheres to all necessary protocols and guidelines to
mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
