Meet the Coaches

Kristi Lansford

Head Softball Coach (1st season)

Coach Kristi Lansford joined the LCC family in early 2014 to help build and guide the college’s first-ever softball team. A California native, Lansford arrived at LCC after coaching softball at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

As a former non-traditional student, Lansford understands the role a community college can play in a student-athlete’s life.

After spending four years in the United States Air Force, she enrolled in Porterville College in California, where she eventually transferred to the California State University-Bakersfield’s softball team at the of age 29.

She graduated in 1997 with a bachelor’s in physical education and communications and public relations, followed by a master’s degree in education and curriculum.

Lansford spent three years as a volunteer assistant coach at Cal State in Bakersfield before moving to Northwood University in Cedar Hill, Texas, where she coached for a year before heading back to California.

She was head softball coach at San Francisco State University for seven years before returning to her alma mater to help coach the Cal State team when the school moved to Division 1.

She remained at Cal State from 2007-2011, until joining Metro State in Denver.

As the head softball coach at San Francisco State University, Lansford led her team, the Gators, to the Division II World Series in 2005.
