The Laredo College (LC) Student Support Services (SSS) Program is a federally funded TRIO program. The goal of SSS is to help facilitate the transition from one level of higher education to the next for eligible LC students.

The program provides peer tutoring, professional tutoring, and computer-assisted tutoring. Other services available are financial aid application assistance, college transfer assistance, study skills and financial literacy workshops, as well as personal, career and academic counseling. SSS also provides Supplemental Instruction (SI) and developmental labs in the areas of Mathematics, Reading, and/or English.

Students are eligible to participate in TRIO Student Support Services if they are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in the next academic term, and demonstrate a need for academic support. All student participants must be low-income, first-generation, and/or individuals with disabilities. The goals of Student Support Services are to: (1) improve good academic standing, (2) increase the persistence rate, (3) improve the graduate rate, and (4) increase the transfer rate for participants going to four-year universities.
