Applying for Financial Aid Instructions

 In order for Laredo College to receive your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) do not forget to add the school code: 003582.

 All prospective students who wish to be considered for financial aid of any kind, including scholarships, for any semester of the coming year, or for a summer session, must: 

1- Complete a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid FAFSA.  This may be done electronically at www.studentaid.gov for faster processing. NOTE: The student must have one of the following: a valid high school diploma, valid GED, or an evaluated high school transcript.  The document must be on file at the Office of Admissions at either campus Lerma Peña Building Room 116 (Ft. McIntosh) or One Stop Shop A 109 (South Campus) to be processed for financial aid.

2- Access and verify the status of the FAFSA application by printing their Student Aid Report (SAR) and reading the "comment section" for any discrepancies that may have resulted in their application not being processed.  The Student Aid Report (SAR) can be accessed at www.studentaid.gov.

3- Submit all required documentation listed under "Student Requirements" found in PASPort.  This can be located in the "Financial Aid" tab by clicking on the "Eligibility" link.

4- Meet all requirements BEFORE the PRIORITY deadline for the semester you are requesting financial aid.

5- Have a COMPLETE Financial Aid Packet with the Financial Aid & Veterans Affairs Services Center so as to be awarded in the order in which the packet was completed.
