The Laredo College Economic Development Center's (LC EDC) mission is to enhance the economic growth and global competitiveness of Laredo and the South Texas region. LC EDC focuses on offering high quality education, training, and services with an emphasis on constant innovation, continuous workforce improvement, technology implementation, entrepreneurship & business development.
To this end, the efforts of the LC EDC support both economic growth for our community and opportunities that will transform the lives of LC students and South Texans further maximizing our institutional excellence.
The Laredo College Economic Development Center is a world-class economic development organization which serves as a catalyst for transformational change in our region through enhancing, engaging and educating our community which will provide pathways to economic prosperity for individuals and businesses throughout South Texas.
The LC EDC targets investment in the people and economy in South Texas to secure business attraction, retention and expansion, including the creation of quality jobs with a laser-focus on economic mobility and enhanced economic growth in South Texas.
Regional Advocacy: The LC EDC serves as a regional advocate for economic development activities and ethical workforce and community development.
Dedicated Partnerships: The LC EDC has developed dedicated, robust partnerships with businesses, industry associations, economic development organizations, private foundations, institutions of higher education, community-based organizations, governmental entities, and local, state & federal governments.
Focus on Education: LC EDC remains focused on providing skills development training, preparing all South Texans including those that are educationally disadvantaged, unemployed, and underemployed, for career-path employment and post-secondary education in high- demand jobs including he import/export industry, as well as providing resources and support to area entrepreneurs.
