LC provides free classes to help students earn a High School Equivalency (HSE) certificate — commonly known as a GED®. Classes are offered at various times and locations and are taught by instructors focused on your individual needs. Practice tests and study aids are available to boost your test-taking confidence.
Who can Enroll
Our Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program serves adults who are at least 16 years old and/or are beyond the compulsory school attendance age, and meet any of the following criteria:
- Function below the high school level
- Lack a high school credential
- Are unable to speak, read or write in English
Special Services Center
Any student attending Laredo College who has an impairment which substantially limits a major life activity is eligible to receive services. This includes students with learning disabilities, those who are physically challenged, those with mental health issues and those with other circumstances limiting major life activities.
