To bolster the ongoing innovations and improvements planned for Laredo College, community golfers are invited to join the first annual LC Golf for Education tournament on Dec. 9 at the Casa Blanca Golf Course located at 3900 Casa Blanca Rd.
With a wide range of projects that will continue to propel Laredo College to new heights, community partners are invited to be part of this tradition through their sponsorships. Donations like these pave the way for projects that not only entice new students to start their higher education career at LC but bring the community together through their love of golf.
“The funding and support from the tournament will continue to support the college’s mission and innovative programs planned by LC President Dr. Minita Ramírez and the Board of Trustees,” Tournament Co-chair Diana Espinoza said. “This event will help improve the college as an institution of higher education and change the lives of current and prospective students for generations to come.”
Over the last 76 years, Laredo College has enriched the lives of thousands of students each semester through affordable academic, workforce, adult and continuing education programs. These innovative programs are designed to upskill, reskill or teach our students a new skill and build a workforce that supports the Laredo community.
Join us in our first Laredo College Golf Classic. Your generosity will help deliver tangible assistance to our students, adding to the Laredo College legacy of student success.
The entry fee is $175 per golfer and teams will compete in a three-man scramble. Entry teams will enjoy two mulligans, a Tiger Woods hole, longest drive, two throw-outs from sand per team and one free putt per team.
Registration and breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 9. A lunch/awards ceremony will follow immediately after the tournament. The top three teams will receive cash prizes with first place earning $3,000, second place earning $2,000 and third place earning $1,000.
