Community Counselors help people who are uninsured, whose existing coverage does not provide mental health services benefits, are low-income and lack the money to pay for counseling services, or who would not receive treatment any other way. Counseling services are provided by trained, licensed professional counselors, licensed clinical social workers, and licensed marriage and family counselors in local churches, clinics, and community in Laredo.

The mission of the Texas A&M International University Community Counseling Center is to engage each individual in a unique plan that not only focuses on the immediate and presenting needs but also recognizes the importance of community integration and personal development. They offer services such as brief individual counseling, career counseling, couples counseling, family therapy, child therapy (6+), adolescent therapy and referrals.

Counseling services are provided by graduate students in the University's MACP program who are meeting their degree requirements. All graduate students are professionally supervised by a licensed psychologist or a licensed professional counselor registered in the State of Texas.

Provides primary healthcare services to the neediest residents of Webb County who are looking for a doctor. Mercy’s doctors focus on prevention and control of chronic illness through education and patient compliance.

Mercy is not a free clinic. Patients make co-pays for their services based on the outcome of their financial screening. Ninety nine percent of our patients are uninsured and fall below federal poverty guidelines.

They provide advocacy dental care, they have a cancer program, diabetes center, general medicine, health education, medication assistance, mobile clinic, outreach and education, social services, and women’s health services.
