LC music students showcase their talents with free recital

Laredoans are invited to a melodic evening courtesy of the talented Laredo College music students for their annual music recital.

The recital will take place at the Laredo College Ft. McIntosh Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

More than 20 Laredo College music students will show off their talents with guitar solos and ensembles, and then the LC Jazz Band with horns, singers, piano and drums. The musical repertoire consists of over a dozen songs across different genres ranging from classical, cool and Latin jazz, rock and even Christmas songs to get into the holiday spirit.

LC Music Professor Dr. Matthew Bishop, who wrote an original jazzy blues number that will be featured in the recital, has worked alongside music students to hone their skills throughout the years.

“This is a great opportunity for our LC music students to showcase their many talents and to support them in their pursuits,” Bishop said. “It’s also a fun way to celebrate the end of the semester and the coming holidays.”

Laredo College is excited to bring music lovers together for a melodic evening filled with unforgettable performances. Come and join our students and support local talent.
