Week of the Young Child sees music, art and family at Laredo College

From the joys of music and dance to the wonders of painting, the Week of the Young Child was a celebrated and appreciated time for our Camilo Prada Child Development Center children, families and staff.

Kicked off on April 4 with a city proclamation, the Week of the Young Child is always a great time for our Palo-Minis. Beginning with a full-on dance and song morning, the children shook off any morning blues with their classmates during Music Monday. Between the all-time classics of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” to the beloved “Baby Shark,” the students had a great time alongside their loved ones.

During Artsy Thursday, the center’s staff set up a gallery of the children’s artwork. Their imagination was on full display for friends and family during which the children showed off the colors used, what they liked about their painting and what their friends painted.

These events bring both fun and creativity to our Palo-Minis while also being essential to the core pillars at the center. The mix of creativity, exercise, community and love is all wrapped up in a week dedicated to celebrating their youth, which at Camilo Prada is just another ordinary week.
