Advanced PowerPoint Workshop: Enhanced Presentation

Advance PowerPoint Workshop will help you pick up from your basic presentation and enhance it for your audience. Knowing your basics when it comes to PowerPoint is great, but enhancing the structure of your presentation and using the tools that this program has can help you create a more dynamic presentation. You will learn to add charts, video, audio, and tables to slides to depict your information to your audience better. The workshop include adding transitions to slides for an added dramatic effect and animations to objects in the slides for a playful or attention-grabbing effect. One feature that you will learn from the workshop and that can be very useful is screen recoding and screen shots. The workshop will also go over on how to add symbols that are not accessible through keyboard. Lastly, you will acquire skills on how to use tools that PowerPoint has while presenting (laser pointer, pen, highlighter, and other navigational tools) and time rehearsal.

Capturing Audio Using Voice Memos (iPhone)

Voice Memos is a mobile application (available on iOS and iPadOS devices) that allows users to record verbal information such as personal reminders/notes and classroom lectures. This workshop will show students how to create a recording session and other features such as trimming and sharing a recording audio clip.

Riverside.fm is a podcast platform that allows users to record video interviews and podcasts remotely. This browser-based software can record good-quality podcasts. The quality is not dependent on the internet connection. Riverside.fm is also available on mobile for both iOS and Android devices to record your podcast. PowerPoint helps you deliver a dynamic, professional looking message to an audience. It allows you to produce slides to use in an academic, business, or other environment.  The PowerPoint slides should reinforce the speaker’s message and help the audience retain the information presented. You will be working with the creations of slides that can fit your specific needs starting with document themes for your slides that will provide consistency in design and color throughout the entire presentation by setting the color scheme, font set, and layout of the presentation. Toolbox I: Preparing to Start a New Semester

In this Toolbox I workshop, we will start you with the essentials you might need for the beginning of the semester.  We will go over two essay styles, MLA and APA, so you’re ready when that time comes to worry less about how to do the format and more about what to write. Two essential tools we will also go over are time management and test-taking. To progress with success, managing time can make the semester go smoother and be rewarding. Test-taking might sound simple, but learning how to relax and prepare for it might surprise you with the advantages you will gain. In the workshop, we will go over setting goals to effectively increase motivation and aid you in creating the changes you want. It can be used to improve a healthier relationship with your path or improve productivity for your courses. Setting goals can also be necessary for mental wellness from the stress of life.
