The Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Data Analytics at Laredo College builds on students' associate-level technical foundation to develop advanced skills in collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating data to support strategic, data-driven decision-making. This bachelor's degree combines pre-BAT general education and foundational technical coursework with upper-level, specialized coursework in database management, statistical programming, predictive analytics, and cloud-based data technologies.

- Statistical programming – using R and Python to analyze data and build statistical models

- Big data analytics – analyzing large-scale datasets using cloud infrastructure

The Bachelor of Applied Technology in Data Analytics is a 120-semester-credit-hour degree program that combines pre-BAT general education and technical coursework with upper-level, specialized coursework in data analytics. The program builds on students' foundational technical skills to develop advanced competencies in database management, statistical programming, predictive analytics, machine learning, and cloud-based big data technologies, preparing graduates to lead data-driven decision-making within organizations.

Program Details:
- Credits: 120 semester credit hours
- Prerequisites: None to declare intent to pursue the BAT; however, students must complete all Pre-BAT course requirements before enrolling in upper-level BAT courses, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, and earn a grade of B or better in each upper-level BAT course
- Pathway: The Associate of Applied Science in Data Analytics at Laredo College is the recommended pathway, allowing students to earn an associate degree while completing the required 30 semester credit hours of pre-BAT technical coursework. Other approved technical pathways include an approved certificate or related technical program
- Capstone: The program culminates in an Applied Technology Capstone Project
