Laredo College has been closely monitoring the weather forecast for Webb County and surrounding areas for next week. After careful assessment and consideration, the college will continue normal operations on Monday, Jan. 20. Both campuses will close on Tuesday, Jan. 21. All activities, classes and services will be canceled for the day. Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. We urge everyone in our community to remain vigilant and heed the advice of local authorities.

Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) licensing exams are available at both Ft. McIntosh and South Campus. Exams are administered by appointment only. An applicant must meet certain training and examination standards prior to licensing. 

General Information

TCOLE exams can be administered in a variety of ways, including:

  • At the conclusion of each Police Academy class
  • At the conclusion of a 3-week Jailers course
  • When the State of Texas grants a PID number to the candidate wishing to test
  • Courses instructed by Director and Assistant Director of South Texas Border Region

TCOLE Examinations

TCOLE exams include:

Peace Officer 180 minutes (3 hours) 250 questions
Basic Jailer 105 minutes (1.75 hours) 100 questions
Telecommunicator 90 minutes (1.5 hours) 80 questions
Police Officer to Jailer 90 minutes (1.5 hours) 100 questions
Hypnosis 90 minutes (1.5 hours) 100 questions

The cost per examination is $30.00
