Spring-Job-Fair-2023-flyer.jpgThe Laredo College Workforce Development Center, in partnership with the City of Laredo Economic Development Department and Workforce Solutions for South Texas, will help Laredoans looking for a new career at their upcoming Spring Job Fair. The event will take place on Thursday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Laredo College Kazen Student Center.

The three entities have joined forces once again to provide an opportunity for individuals seeking gainful employment in different areas and industries, including government, education, business & logistics, healthcare and more.

The event is free and open to the community, with more than 60 employers participating in the fair. Applicants can register early for the fair by visiting bit.ly/sprn2023.

Job-seekers should expect to visit employer booths. They are encouraged to wear professional attire and be prepared with multiple copies of their resumes for possible interviews on location.

This is the first major event sponsored by the Laredo College Workforce Development Center, a newly-formed department whose mission is to connect students to career and employment resources, pathways coaching and career navigation while also providing employers an all-inclusive source of training opportunities for the expansion of upskilling and reskilling in the workforce.

Through the Career Services and Employer Initiatives services, LC students, alumni and employers can benefit from the center and receive employment and career resources. Services include Student Career Development Plans, soft skills development workshops, job postings, internships/externships, employer upskilling grants and much more.

The Workforce Development Center will focus on providing student professional development workshops and a Fall Job Fair at the LC South Campus. Additional trainings for upcoming graduates will be provided in order to better equip students for the workforce or transition into the employment field.
