Laredo College understands that the logistics and trade industry is at the core of the success and economic prosperity of Laredo and the South Texas region and is thus expanding its career offerings in this booming field.
The Laredo College Global Import, Export and Logistics Center will host an informational session on July 26 at 7 p.m. at the De La Garza Building in room 101 for students interested in pursuing this rewarding career path.
The center serves the growing and evolving global trade industry, import and export agencies and freight forwarders through customs, import, export, logistics education and workforce support. Its mission is to provide the highest quality instruction and competency-based technical skills with a comprehensive foundation in logistics practices by preparing students for entry-level positions in the logistics industry.
The center promotes the offerings of the Laredo College Logistics and Distribution Program, which is designed to prepare students for various career opportunities such as customs broker, freight forwarder, entry writer, HTS classification analyst, customs compliance specialist and dispatcher.
The Logistics and Distribution Program is committed to providing students with a solid foundation in the fundamentals of international trade, customs compliance and supply chain management. Its mission is to provide the highest quality instruction and competency-based technical skills with a comprehensive foundation in logistics practices by preparing students for entry-level positions in the logistics industry.
Program instructors strive to create a dynamic, supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Through hands-on experiences and real-world simulations, students gain practical skills and a deep understanding of the challenges facing the logistics industry today.
