The Laredo College Health Sciences Division is well-known for delivering quality education through dedicated and caring faculty who promote student learning and engagement using state-of-the-art equipment to prepare graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to enter the workforce as healthcare professionals.
The college will once again open its doors to welcome prospective students, visitors and anyone interested in learning about the various health career offerings on Monday, Oct. 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the LC South Campus. College of Health Sciences Building.
The state-of-the-art facility houses eight highly sought-after programs–Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN), Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Emergency Medical Services, Medical Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Technology and Vocational Nursing.
The event is an eye-opening experience to the different pathways within the rewarding healthcare field and is free and open to the public.
Community members of all ages are invited to join students, faculty and staff for an afternoon dedicated to showcasing the range of programs offered within the Health Sciences Division that lead to excellent career opportunities, showcase the cutting-edge equipment and demonstrate skills students have learned in preparation for entering clinical practice and the workplace.
“The Health Sciences Division is excited to welcome the community and prospective students to our open house to learn about the educational opportunities available,” Acting Dean of Health Sciences Dr. Esmeralda Vargas said. “We invite everyone to come and hear faculty and students share highlights about the first-rate allied health and nursing programs offered at Laredo College. You will get to walk through our state-of-the-art facility, listen to student presentations and observe students demonstrate skills they have learned while on their journey to becoming healthcare providers within their respective fields.”
Attendees can enjoy presentations, demonstrations of skills learned in each program, interactive activities and Q&A sessions with health sciences faculty and current program students.
