Laredo College will celebrate a cornerstone achievement in the lives of over a thousand students, the largest graduating class in the institution’s history, on Friday, May 10 at the Sames Auto Arena.
This year’s Commencement will be split into two ceremonies at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The first ceremony will be for students earning an Associate of Science or Associate of Arts. The second ceremony will be for students earning an Associate of Applied Science or a certificate.
We look forward to seeing all the graduates’ families and friends celebrating this important milestone in our Palominos’ lives. No tickets are required for guests, and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
For loved ones looking to add flair to their graduates’ big day, the Laredo College Alumni & Friends Association will sell fresh flower bouquets, Palomino plushies, graduation t-shirts and commemorative bricks.
Putting this event together is a labor of love by hundreds of Laredo College employees who come together to make it a memorable day that graduates will remember fondly.
“Commencement is the highlight of the year for our students and our entire Palomino learning community,” Laredo College President Dr. Minita Ramírez said. “This important day marks the attainment of an important phase in their lives and celebrates their hard work and perseverance. Undoubtedly, our graduates will be successful as they join the workforce or move on to four-year institutions to continue their academic journey. We are proud of the solid foundation they have received at Laredo College. We are confident that they will pay it forward in their future roles as hard-working professionals, lifelong learners and community leaders.”
