Laredo College and the Consulate General of Mexico in Laredo have once again partnered in a collaborative effort to provide educational opportunities to local students.
On Wednesday, July 17, the consulate–in partnership with the Instituto Cultural Mexicano de Laredo, Grupo ALFA and Transportes FEMA–presented Laredo College with a $12,000 donation through IME Becas, a program that offers economic resources for students of Mexican descent or children of Mexican parents residing in the United States and currently enrolled in an academic program offered by educational institutions or social organizations.
LC matched $11,000 to increase the number of students positively impacted by this initiative.
Offered yearly since 2015 at Laredo College, IME Becas seeks to improve access to educational opportunities at all levels–adult education, secondary education and/or higher education programs.
Laredo College looks forward to continuing to foster strong relationships with our community partners to expand access to higher education and enrich our local community.
