Auditions open for “Ride the Cyclone” at LC

Step right up and face your fate! Laredo College is inviting brave souls to audition for “Ride the Cyclone,” a musical roller coaster where the afterlife is just the beginning of the thrill. This captivating production follows six choir students who, after a tragic roller coaster accident, must face the challenge of deciding who among them will return to life on Earth.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Laredo College Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center in room 102 at the historic Ft. McIntosh Campus.

The book, music and lyrics for “Ride The Cyclone” are by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell. The play blends elements of dark comedy, musical theater and drama. The music featured is eclectic with a mix of style from pop and rock to more traditional musical theater.

The Performing Arts and Communication Department is seeking six talented individuals, three males and three females, to bring this unique story to life. Auditionees are encouraged to prepare a short, 16-bar excerpt of any song and a 30-second monologue.

No experience is necessary to audition. While preparation is recommended, all interested individuals are welcome to audition.
