Palominos flood LC campuses, ready for new semester

During the final Laredo College new student orientation, a wave of green could be seen throughout the campus as a record number of new students participated before the start of the fall semester.

Throughout the summer, the newest Palominos had the chance to walk through both campuses, ask questions, learn more about LC services available to them and understand what it means to be a part of the LC family.

The orientations were capped off with the biggest being held this last week before classes start. Nearly 400 Palominos were walking through the historic Ft. McIntosh Campus. Led by student orientation leaders, not only did they get a lay of the land but had a wonderful time meeting new friends, hanging out with current ones and making waves amid their new adventure.

“It's definitely a sneak peek of what’s in store for welcome week! We are always excited to see these many students on campus. Orientation will prepare them to be successful since the first day of class at Laredo College,” LC Student Life Director Pedro Rivera said.

The adventure continues next week on the first day where students will have a week full of activities and goodies available to them. Rivera encourages students to take time out of their class day to relax and have a good time among the Palomino family.
