For the second consecutive year, the Laredo College Golf for Education tournament was a resounding success, with over 100 golfers showcasing their skills on the course for a great cause.
The Casa Blanca Golf Course hosted a morning filled with camaraderie and golfing excitement, bringing together volunteers, sponsors and golf enthusiasts through friendly competition.
“Our Golf for Education tournament has quickly become a staple fundraiser for Laredo College, thanks to the participation of our community sponsors, volunteers and friends,” LC Vice President of Institutional Advancement Dr. Diana Ortiz said. “I would especially like to thank my co-chair, Diana Espinoza, and all our in-kind sponsors who made the behind the scenes logistics possible. Thank you all for your support. We hope to continue building this Palomino network of friends, alumni and supporters who believe in LC’s mission of educating our community and expanding our regional workforce. We look forward to next year.”
Recognizing excellence, cash prizes were awarded to the top three teams:
- $3,000 for first place: Juan J. Gomez Jr., Anthony Gomez and Daniel Gomez (Laredo Federal Credit Union)
- $2,000 for second place: Rourke Melendez, Rick Garza and Rene Rangel (Leyendecker Construction Inc.)
- $1,000 for third place: Jose C. Gonzalez, Joey Gamez III and Adrian Vera (Estrella Provider Services, LLC)
