LC hosting free Christmas-themed Student Ensemble Concert on Dec. 2

Laredo College is excited to announce its upcoming Student Ensemble Concert, a showcase of the both the LC Guitar Ensemble and the Jazz Ensemble students’ musical talents.

The concert will take place on Monday, Dec. 2 at 6:15 p.m. at the Pvt. David B. Barkley Cantu Veterans Memorial Chapel. Admission is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature a diverse program, blending traditional and Christmas music, with the Jazz Ensemble performing a newly arranged version of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” offering a fresh take on the holiday classic.

The two student ensembles, consisting of nine performers, have been working diligently since the beginning of the semester to prepare a memorable evening of music.

While the concert will primarily showcase instrumental performances, the Jazz Ensemble will highlight a vocalist on select pieces, adding an extra layer of depth to the evening’s repertoire.

“This semester has been very exciting, seeing and hearing the way Laredo College students can create great music,” LC Music Instructor Eddie Vanderwalker said. “It is my hope that the community will take this opportunity to hear an enjoyable concert, but also see the future of music in Laredo, playing or singing right in front of them.”

The concert will last approximately one hour, and everyone in the community is invited to attend. Come enjoy an evening of live music performed by some of Laredo College’s most talented students and celebrate the spirit of the season with great music and local talent.
