Pennies for Tennies gathered by LC Palo-Minis

During a nice and cool morning, the children of the Camilo Prada Child Development Center walked hand-in-hand with their teachers throughout the Laredo College South Campus. Their quest involved collecting donations from the many friendly faces throughout the campus.

This event was part of the Women’s City Club’s annual fundraiser, “Pennies for Tennies,” which raises funds to provide tennis shoes, eye exams and glasses for students in need.

As they paraded through the campus, the children were often stopped by generous contributors who supported their cause. The group brought along their infectious cheer as they rushed through the campus. Whether they encountered students, staff, faculty or visitors, the spirit of giving was in full force that day.

The journey began at the Camilo Prada Child Development Center as they traveled in the brisk morning toward the College of Health Sciences Building. From there, they took in the sight of the morning sun at the South Campus Hill before entering the Academic and Advanced Technology Center. Their route then took them through the Billy Hall Jr. Student Center and back out into the campus grounds.

In the season of joy and giving, the Palo-Minis were a shining example of the good-hearted nature found at Laredo College.
