LCPD announces new emergency dispatch number

The Laredo College Police Department (LCPD) is proud to announce a significant update to its emergency communications system.

Starting March 1, the department will transition to a new centralized emergency dispatch number: (956) 794-4444. This change underscores LCPD’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the highest level of safety and security across both Laredo College campuses.

As part of the department’s mission to prioritize the protection and security of the entire Laredo College community, the new number will streamline communication and improve efficiency by centralizing dispatch services, eliminating the need for separate numbers for each campus.

The LCPD provides 24/7 services at both Laredo College campuses, including the enforcement of state and local laws, college policies and emergency response operations. By enhancing emergency communication, LCPD continues to ensure a secure environment that fosters learning and personal safety for everyone at Laredo College.

Laredo College Police Chief Jose Hernandez emphasized that this new number is easy to remember and applies to both campuses, enabling a unified and efficient response to emergencies and further improving campus safety protocols.

“Our department’s motto, ‘Palominos First,’ reflects our unwavering commitment to the safety of our students, faculty, staff and visitors,” Hernandez said. “The launch of this new dispatch number will enhance our ability to respond faster and more effectively to any emergencies on campus. We encourage everyone to save this new number and reach out to us if they have any questions or concerns.”
