Isn’t family great? Well, Laredo College invites the community to spend some time with Harry Witherspoon and his uncle Tom, whose $6 million inheritance is Harry’s if he can get his uncle’s corpse to Monte Carlo.
With Lucky Stiff, a production with musical and dance numbers, our community will be in stiches during this wonderfully macabre evening. LC Professor of Voice Dr. Joseph Crabtree said the fun of the show is in the musical numbers as the writers give the audience music that is catchy and easy to enjoy, all while keeping them on their toes.
Tickets are $10 through Eventbrite and at the door of the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center Theater. LC students and employees have free admission with their Palomino ID. UISD and LISD students also have free admission with their school ID.
Showings are at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 through Saturday, March 1 and a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday, March 2.
“Anyone familiar with Weekend at Bernie’s knows what fun can be had when the macabre is taken fully tongue-in-cheek,” Crabtree said. “There are a lot of things on Uncle Tony’s list that he wants to do, Harry is there to make sure it is done and Annabell makes sure it is done correctly.”
The LC students involved will have a wonderful time on stage as both imagination and laughter are at the core of Lucky Stiff. With all the music and the electrifying performance, even the dead may start to dance!
